Romany Thresher from South Africa residing in the UK is the owner of Direct Assist Online a social media management business which provides social media assistant  services to business owners and consultants who don’t have the time to manage social media but know they need an online presence.

Her passion for helping small business owners has led her to establish an online community Better Networking where professional where professionals support and promote each other.

On a personal note

If I have to describe myself in one word I would say I am a creator. I create ideas, create things, and create solutions.
I believe we determine our outcome through the choices we make. We can choose to succeed or we can choose to fail. I also believe that what we focus on determines our outcome in life.

I do not come from a wealthy background and most of my childhood was rather challenging. Like most of us I have been bullied and made fun of and been called stupid. I have been homeless, broke and suffered severe verbal abuse which resulted in severe depression and panic attacks which I have overcome.

What I have learnt throughout my life is that you have a choice. You can choose to be a victim, live in the past, blame others and live a miserable life OR you can choose to be extraodinary and be the best that you can be and focus on how to get more of what you want in life.

Starting out being strong and confident to hitting an all time low and having to pull myself out of a life of everything going wrong, no hope and caught up in negative living. I can honestly look back and see how I have impacted my own life and how I could’ve have prevented certain events from happening. My passion is to share my own real life experiences so that I can inspire and motivate others who feel that life has dealt them a raw deal. I hope to oneday write a book about it but I am still a work in progress and the best is yet to come.

I believe in being straight forward
What you see is what you get, I have no hidden agendas. I live to be free and do the things I want to do, it is not always possible with commitments and responsibilities but freedom is very important to me.

I believe in building strong lasting friendships
I am honoured to have the friends that I do have in my life, my friends are a part of who I am and I value and treasure each and every one of them, they have all added something special to my life.

I love my husband
He taught me how to love. He is my rock and my best friend. He makes me laugh, cry, angry, and keeps me awake at night (snoring). He comforts me when I am down and he is my soul mate as I am his.

What I dislike
Dishonesty, slackness, people who are false and two faced, I dislike doing household chores, fighting with people, late trains, people who abuse others, people who take things that does not belong to them.

What I Enjoy and like doing
Internet and technology and what it can do for people. It has opened the world to new and wonderful possibilities.

The sun gives me great joy and lots of energy. Love the sound of the ocean and walking on the beach. Going to a club and dancing all night. Enjoy good movies, comedies, factual, suspense. Favourite music, Sting, Cold Play, Gorillaz, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Phil Collins, Madonna, Fat Boy Slim, Faithless, 80’s music. Love spur of the moment adventures. I enjoy looking at property and have a passion for property. Money. Enjoy meeting people and building meaningful relationships.

I love being creative and trying out new things and welcome challenges because it helps me to learn new and wonderful things.
