I agree, I'm sure they will lose some donations but like most big companies I'm sure they will recover. People still buy from BP even after the very, very bad publicity they had which one would've thought that they were doomed but they weren't. Now I believe they are the ones driving the petrol price in South Africa and you still see people using BP.

Hi Kimberly I always recommend going for the paid option. WordPress is free it is the hosting and the domain you pay for and it is not that expensive.
Having your own domain and your site hosted on it is a lot better for many different reasons.

Fantastic blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers? I'm planning to start my own website soon but I'm a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I'm totally confused .. Any tips? Cheers!

Hi Billy

There is no problem using your company logo at least it is better than an egg. At least a person can then associate that it is a company. However, I do also want to point out that people buy people. We are naturally attracted to seeing a person's face. At the end of the day it is about what brand you are building and how you want to build it. If it is your personal profile, yes use a photo, if it is your company profile, then of course go with your company logo.

Hi,
But what if your avatar is your company logo? Isnt that the same? I am building a company and a reputation, surely it wont make that much of a difference if it my face or my company logo?

Hi John

Yes, it is good to connect again. On a personal level I once confronted a friend of mine about this and her response was that she felt bad to say "no she could not do it" as she did not want to let me down. I explained to her that it is far worse saying "yes" and then not following through.

With regards to services, I agree, especially in the corporate sector, service is really appalling. Even Facebook and LinkedIn support are dreadful, you never get a reply. With all the money they make you should think they can afford to offer decent support.

I would wonder why such a person offered help in the first instance? What was his/her motive to offer you help? This links up with a research project I am busy with to determine how credible/helpful/ethical businesses are towards customers. I am using data from websites like hellopeter and it is really scary what the levels of good service are. Banks are the biggest culprits - it seems they might just be totally out of bounds. Nice to connect again

Thanks John

Yes, agreed, using the services of a virtual assistant is definitely becoming more popular and works well for businesses who need a support team behind them.
