How we think and feel impacts the success of your business
How we think, feel and behave has an impact on how your business grows. The deals you make. The relationships you have with your customers. Your well being. The number of sales you make. It also impacts on the results you have in marketing and social media. If you dread it or have resistance to it, it won’t work.
Throughout our lives we are taught to do everything in our own strength. We are taught that you cannot get anywhere without hard work and effort. Hard work, determination and commitment is important but not to the point of being a workaholic.
For some reason I think many of us have this idea that God is out there somewhere almost like He is separate from us rather than the concept that God is living within us. In other words we are created in His image, meaning his spirit, his energy, his power, his everything. We are co-creators and that we have access to everything we need as energy flows around and through us. We are taught to do things in our own strength rather than receiving guidance from a higher power and so what often happens is you end up working yourself to exhaustion. You start to feel out of control in all areas of your life. Everything becomes overwhelming and you just wish it would all go away. I was doing this in the early days of my business and most of my life, going around in circles. Honestly, I did not know any better. Society raised girls to find a husband as a number one goal and that we are nothing without one. I was also raised believing that I must work hard for everything. In fact I remember movies, media, and the people around me promoting the idea that if you want to get anywhere you pretty much need to be a workaholic.

Having this vision in my head, it was pretty much what I ended up doing. The harder I tried, the more things weren’t working out. Life was a struggle, it was exhausting and I felt that if this is how life is meant to be then I did not want to be here. In my mind I believed that life just cannot be a constant struggle. Something had to change and I went on a quest to find a solution.
I stumbled onto the subject of Quantum Physics which to be honest, I did not quite get at the time. I then stumbled on a book called The Power of Intention by Dr Wayne Dyer which got me thinking a bit more about my reality and how I was co-creating this reality through my thought process. I then began to dissect my life, bringing back memories of certain events that were traumatic for me. I observed my childhood, my schooling, my friends, my marriage, my career and my life in general. For each event I observed how I was thinking at the time, what my emotions where, how I was feeling and how I was behaving. In that moment I realised just how negative my life was back then become. How I was co-creating the outcomes into reality through my thoughts, emotions and behaviour. It was a definite light bulb moment for me and decided to do things very differently.
In the early days of learning a new way of living, thinking and behaving, I learnt about the value of meditation and listening to my inner guide. I’d read about it in the Bible and heard people say, “listen to your gut instinct” but seriously I had no idea what I was meant to be hearing. I had no training and so I did not now what I was meant to experience. So when I got guidance I ignored it most of the time because I did not realise it was God speaking to me. The result, disaster, absolute mayhem! I kept listening for a voice, rather than a feeling or seeing the signs. I read this article written so beautifully by Michelle Vooght about what inner guidance is and how to recognise it in your life which I thought might be helpful to you and might just make life easier for you.
I realised I don’t have to do this alone. I don’t keep having to doing it all out of my own strength. With practice the more I am aligned the more help comes my way with very little effort. What are your thoughts and experiences?
